In moving forwards the ball carrier should always consider the option of avoiding contact. However, if and when contact is taken it should be on the ball carriers terms in order to achieve this there are call contact management and continuity skills, which should be applied. There are a number of key factors which apply when the ball carrier takes the ball into contact. The ball carrier should have their eyes open and focus on the contact area of the defender.
